Chadema and Ukawa welcomed Edward Lowassa into the opposition coalition, Dr Willibrod Peter Slaa, the Secretary General of Chadema, disappeared from the public limelight in a dubious manner.
Initially, the Chadema leadership kept mum about his disappearance until it was forced to say something about what seemed to be an anomaly for a leader that is always in the media outlets saying something about his party.
When the leadership of Chadema decided to say something about the whereabouts of Dr Slaa they gave conflicting information.
Firstly, they said that everything was okay and that Dr Slaa was on a brief holiday and he would resume his duties during the party preparatory meetings for the General Election.
